TRY TO CAGE ME
TRY TO CAGE ME
LINER NOTES
This was the first song where Chain Strikers stopped asking permission. We wrote it in a rehearsal room with the amps too loud and the windows shaking, chasing the exact moment a quiet kid decides he is done being told to sit down.
The artwork came before the final mix — a winged figure tearing chains apart — and it ended up shaping how we played it: bigger, meaner, more cinematic. It is a song about pressure, and about what happens when you stop letting it win.
You can chain the body. You can't cage the noise.
LYRICS
Original lyrics — same in every language.
No matter what I say
You'd better stay away
Nothing to reclaim
(Have you?)
Have you ever played this game?
I've had enough of your lies
No more live on this disguise
Try to cage me
Try to cage me
Try to cage me
Try to cage me
If you can!
Turn it off, nothing left
Now it's the time
That I will become the king before I die
Feed me with your fantasies
Do what you do best
I'll never get down on my knees
You know, I've got no regrets!
Try to cage me
Try to cage me
Try to cage me
Try to cage me
If you can!
If you can!
